The general rules for getting tickets to the Late Show with David Letterman are interesting. Whether you go online or in-person, CBS will only issue you tickets (2/person; you must be 18 and over) if you correctly answer trivia about the show. If you get in the show, you can't attend for another 6 months (they will take down your name; tickets are non-transferable). If you go in-person, you can't line up before 9 am (box office is open 9.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. Monday - Thursday; 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday - Sunday), but can request show tickets up to one month in advance. Standby ticket policy requires you to call 212.247.6497 and, if chosen, check in 1 hour before show taping. You may or may not get in. They no longer accept mailed requests.
